The next musician in my quest to prove that Springfield Missouri has a ton of musical talent is Jeremy Larson.
Jeremy played in a few local bands during my time in Springfield, and about a year before I left for Austin he started playing some solo shows. I remember when he gave me his “Red & Blue” EP, which was the first set of songs he recorded for his solo work. It just blew me away. The first song still almost brings me to tears when I listen to it.
Since then, his music has grown into beautiful walls of strings, piano, delay, and reverb. The songs move more like waves of sound than like standard pop songs. Jeremy is classically trained, and pairs his training with his knack for the abstract, creating beautiful soundscapes.
You can find Jeremy’s latest album “Salvation Club” on iTunes, and you can keep up with him on his blog.
