SXSW week was another fun, but draining adventure.  Let me break it down for you:

Monday:  Played a private SXSW party at the Gables Park Plaza apartment complex.  Had some fun with friends, and ate some sushi!

Tuesday:  Played at Thunderbird Coffeehouse with a lot of great friends.  You can read more about it here.

Wednesday:  Had the day off, so I spent it with Todd and Ritchie (of Apodiform) and Hollie (Todd’s wife and a great designer to boot).  We spent the entire day walking, and drinking Monster energy drinks.  Our stomachs burned with regret, and we called it a night at about 12am after watching a band setup for 50 minutes in the Emo’s Tent.  Thom Yorke can’t even get away with a 50 minute setup.  I still would have left.  We had fun none-the-less.  I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.

Thursday:  Met the band at Cissi’s Wine Market for a show.  The great guys from RM64 stopped by for a visit.  Then I headed over to the Canvas Bar with some friends to see Soft Reeds play a great set.

Friday:  Met the band at the Hideout Theatre for an acoustic set put on by The Sessions.  The show went great and I got to perform and hang out with Eisley, Jay Nash, Molly Jenson, and Meiko.  After the show, I headed over to the Dirty Dog Bar for the RM64 party, where I got to see Fitz and the Tantrums.  After the party, I went back over to the Canvas Bar to see a friend perform with Roman Numerals. At the show, I ran into an old friend from Springfield.  We walked around for while after the show just talking about random stuff.

Saturday: Saturday was my busy day.  The day started with a show at the Purevolume House with Joe Purdy.  It was my only full band show of the week, and it went fairly well.  After playing, I jumped in the car and headed to the Arab Cowboy for a songwriter showcase, where I got to perform with some great songwriters including Audra Mae and Jake Walden.  From there, we grabbed some pizza from Eastside Pies and headed to the Music for the City show. The Music for the City show was packed, and I got to perform with a lot of friends including Quiet Company, The Soldier Thread, Miranda Dodson, and Danny Malone.  It was a great way to finish the week.
